Bleeder

Summary

A night in the new lives of Sam and Dean Winchester.

Notes

Bleeder

At the stroke of nine, Sam brings Dean his dinner.

It depends on the night what it’ll be—whoever Sam can seduce into coming home with him. Dean isn’t picky anymore, and he’s just as eager to sink his teeth into a boy’s neck as he is a girl’s. He’s especially thrilled when Sam manages to coax two or more back to the motel.

Dean wastes no time finishing his meal, able to drain a meathead just as big as Sam in three minutes before they drag the body into the tub; they’ll clean it up later.

Even with fresh blood pumping through his veins, making him look more lively than he had before he was bitten, Dean still wants more. He sits on Sam’s lap, watches him slit his forearm open before offering it, his blood blooming from the new seam in his skin. His arms and torso are peppered with old scars, healing or gnarled where he has cut through scar tissue: Dean likes to drink from Sam’s pulse points.

He tips his head back and grips the sheets as Dean savors his blood, and he grabs his brother’s head and holds it in place when he drinks from Sam’s chest or from his thigh, near his groin. When Sam gets lightheaded and starts to lose himself, Dean looks like an overfed tick; his red-flushed face hovers in front of Sam, his eyes focusing and unfocusing. He’ll be okay when he comes to—Dean will have brought the body to the car, cleaned up the clearest evidence of what they’ve done, and they’ll drive down the highway until they find the best spot to dump Dean’s unwanted leftovers.

“You’re a good brother, Sammy,” he tells Sam after the deed’s done. His hand is on the back of Sam’s head, his fingers knotting into his hair, and suddenly he’s kissing him like he’s trying to bruise his lips. Dean knows that the incomplete Sam doesn’t appreciate this as much as his former self would, but he doesn’t move away or prematurely force Dean’s mouth off of his, so he does it anyway.

No one has heard from Sam and Dean Winchester in weeks. It’s only a matter of time before someone catches up with them, but god help them if they try to swing a blade in Dean’s direction—Sam will jump in front of his brother and catch it in his palm without flinching, distracting them just long enough for Dean to get away.

He knows they can’t have many nights left, and he intends to make the most of them before he and Dean are hunted, captured, and killed.

Afterword

End Notes

I wish Dean had the dark circles from this episode throughout the entire show. I love when a man is tired and/or crying.
